With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we thought it best to celebrate the occasion by getting everyone in the mood for love!

And what better way to do that than to watch a montage of some of the greatest kisses in television history? These kisses broke the "will they, or won't they?" tension between some of our favorite on-screen couples, challenged the censorship of the time, and quite simply, are just plain hot!

Liszt Liebestraume a Common Piece for Concert Pianists

Liebestraume is a piano piece written by Franz Liszt. He published this piece in 1850. This piano piece is actually 3 separate piano songs that are referred to as Liebestraume No.3. Liszt was inspired to write these 3 songs from poems written by Ludwig Uhland and Ferdinand Freiligrath.

The poems were about three forms of love. The first type of love for the first song is exalted love or saintly love. The second type of love that goes along with the second song is about erotic love. The last song is about unconditional love, which comes from the third poem. The 3 songs are divided by a fast cadenza and the same melody is played at various speeds throughout. In 1850, 2 different versions were published. One version is for a high voice and piano. The second version was created for transcriptions for piano two-hands. Liszt Liebestraume No.3 is a common piece that most concert pianists have studied and played.

Challenge Your Piano Students Today

If you like to teach piano or are even a piano teacher then you may be very tired of hearing the same types of music over and over again. Instead of hearing Chopsticks and Beethoven's Symphony for the ten thousandth time then you should consider challenging your students to a new type of music. You may feel that some students are bored with the same old classical piano songs and that may be so, but if you challenge them to try a new type of music then they may find that spark for playing the piano again. To get your students fired up, you should consider getting Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 for those students that you feel can rise to the occasion.

Before you decide if the student is ready, you should speak with them first and see how they feel about the challenge so they do not think they can master it the first time they play it.

I have a friend who plays piano, and it is more of a hobby than a profession. He is good enough of a player to get little side gigs playing at weddings and stuff like that. He works a full time job, but he really could just quit that job and play piano all the time if he wanted to. Mostly, he enjoys playing classical music. One of my favorite songs that he has been playing recently is La Campanella by Liszt. It is a very impressive song from the romantic period. I think it is lovely. He plays it from the piano scores, but he is already starting to play some of it from memory.

If you are looking for sheet music for your church organist then you may want to consider trying a new type of music that you do not always get to hear.

While the classical church music is very pretty you might want to try a new style of music that will get your parishioners into the services. Many people decide that they want to go to church to hear the music, it is very much a part of how they worship and praise their Lord.

If you would like more people to get involved in the music of the church then you should include some classical music that will appease more parishioners. Bach's Goldberg Variations Changed Me

My life changed when I first heard the Goldberg Variations by Bach. This intricate, highly complex piece of music both baffled and attracted me. Its impossibly difficult architecture held together even though it seemed baffling to me as a beginning pianist. How did it all fit? How did the notes come together so beautifully? It became my life's mission to learn to play the piano piece in all of its kaleidoscopic glory. I spent hours at the piano, making sure that each measure was perfect, which took what seemed like forever. Finally, with the help of my piano teacher, I mastered it well enough to play at a recital--but not well enough to satisfy me. I wanted to learn to play it on the harpsichord, so I found one in my area and took time to practice, the feather picked notes swirling around my head in dizzying structures. I can play it, now, and well, and each time I dip in is as attractive as the last.
